So almost six years ago, I had the best intentions of starting this blog. As it turns out, I didn’t do so great! In that time, so much has changed- I am newly married, have traveled to 11 countries (we just got home from 2.5 weeks in Australia for our honeymoon), bought and renovated my first place and grew my business into a very full time job (hence the lack of blog posts!).
While in Mexico for our wedding last month, my husband Brett, a realtor, received a listing for a town home in our neighborhood that was a great space at a reasonable price! We jumped on it and went to see it the morning after we got home. It was exactly what we hoped it would be and we immediately placed an offer and got the house!
The good/bad part about this house- it needs a major renovation! Great in that I get to make it exactly what we want it to be. I can tweak the layouts to be more appropriate for how we live, I can change every finish to be the style I love and hopefully add a lot of value in the process for when we sell it down the road. Bad in that we will likely be living in a construction zone through much of the renovation.
My head is already spinning with ideas! I love a dozen different styles from transitional to quite modern, from very neutral to bold color everywhere. Do I want fun wallpapers or fresh white walls? Light and earthy like the designs coming out of California or a little bolder and more colorful? I see why people hire me to help direct them toward a cohesive vision!
So, I will be sharing before and afters and talking through my decisions in real time. While I wait for us to close, here are some of the before pictures of our new home! I can’t wait to start planning!
I look forward to you joining me on this journey!
